Terms for the player blurbs
The short version: read them, quote them with a link, and ask before you take them in bulk, feed them to another product, or train a model on them.
What a blurb is
A player blurb is a few sentences written from this site's own records: the usage tables, the rankings, the injury report and the roster as read from the sources credited on each page. The wording is this site's; the facts described are not claimed by anyone here. Statistics, injury designations, roster moves and scores are facts, and facts belong to nobody. The sources that publish them have their own terms, credited on every blurb and on the Legal & data page, and those terms still apply to the facts.
What you may do without asking
- Read the feed, on the site or in a feed reader, as often as you like.
- Quote a blurb, or a few, in a post, a thread, a group chat or an article, with a link back to the page you took it from.
- Link to any blurb, player page or week page.
- Use the facts in a blurb for anything at all. They were never ours.
What needs permission first
- Republishing the feed, or a substantial part of it, anywhere else.
- Copying blurbs in bulk by hand, by script or by crawler, whatever the reason.
- Feeding the blurbs into another product, app, newsletter, bot or data service.
- Using the blurbs, in whole or in part, to train, fine-tune or evaluate a machine-learning model.
- Removing the credit line, the source line or the date from a blurb you quote.
Asking is easy and the answer is usually yes: see permissions.
Whose work is whose
The text of each blurb, and the selection and arrangement of the feed, are © Reynold Houle. The underlying data is credited to its sources, under their licences, on every blurb. Nothing on this page is a claim on a statistic, a designation, a score, a team or a player's name.
What the blurbs are not
They are not advice. They describe what the record shows and what this site's model makes of it, and both can be wrong; the scorecard keeps count. Nothing here is betting advice, and nothing here is affiliated with the NFL, any team, any fantasy platform or any sportsbook.
Changes and corrections
These terms can change; the date at the top is the date they last did. A wrong number, a wrong credit or a rights concern goes to the report form, which stores nothing about you.
